Tactile Study No. 1: Crimson Rhythm

From the Form & Finish SeriesCrimson Rhythm is the debut piece in an ongoing exploration of organic repetition and light. This work moves away from traditional representation to focus entirely on the physical experience of the canvas—the "tactile" nature of art.Drenched in a single, vibrant, saturated fluorescent pink/red, the composition is defined by hand-sculpted, raised cells. To create a dynamic visual rhythm, select focal points are encapsulated in high-gloss resin, creating "windows" of deep, glass-like reflection against the surrounding lustrous texture. As the light in the room changes, these resin-coated shapes shift and glow, bringing a living energy to the monochromatic field.Product Specifications• Dimensions: 60x70cm• Medium: Professional-grade Acrylics and Selective Resin Detailing• Surface: Stretched Canvas in a white floating frame• Finish: High-Gloss (Seamless Varnish with Resin accents)• Format: Original one-of-a-kind artwork (1 of 3 in the series)The Series ContinuesForm & Finish is a three-part study. While Crimson Rhythm explores the intensity of red, the series continues with an exploration of shadow and light.• Tactile Study No. 2 – Onyx Pulse (Lamp Black) – Available Now• Tactile Study No. 3 – Azure Echo (Cerulean/Blue) – Coming Soon

Tactile Study No. 2: Onyx Pulse
Status: In Production

From the Form & Finish SeriesOnyx Pulse is the second evolution in this three-part study, shifting the dialogue from the vibrant energy of crimson to the profound depth of shadow. This piece explores the intersection of absolute black and the structural rhythm of organic forms.Onyx Pulse is a study in absolute depth. Drenched in a seamless gloss finish, the Lamp Black surface takes on the quality of liquid obsidian. The hand-sculpted cells create a rhythmic topography where light doesn't just sit on the surface; it flows across it, pooling in the resin "windows" to create layers of deep, crystalline reflection. As the environment changes, the black-on-black textures react to the light—the lustrous, raised surfaces capture the room’s energy while the resin-coated shapes pulse with a sharp, glass-like glow. It is a study in quiet power and the sophisticated "tactile" nature of darkness.Product Specifications• Dimensions: 60x70cm• Medium: Professional-grade Acrylics and Selective Resin Detailing• Surface: Stretched Canvas in a white floating frame• Finish: High-Gloss (Seamless Varnish with Resin accents)• Format: Original one-of-a-kind artwork (2 of 3 in the series)The Series ContinuesForm & Finish is a three-part study. shattered noon

In Shattered Noon, the traditional landscape is deconstructed into a vibrant mosaic of light. This piece captures the precise moment when the high sun hits the forest canopy, splintering into a spectrum of primary colors that dance across the forest floor.By moving away from a literal representation of trees, I’ve used energetic, rhythmic brushstrokes to translate the 'feeling' of a summer day, the warmth of the yellows, the depth of the indigo shadows, and the fiery pulse of the red earth. It is a walk through a prism, where the path forward is paved in light.30x30cm

This piece is gives aquatic radiance.Original Acrylic and Mixed Media on CanvasThis striking composition explores the delicate form of the seahorse through a lens of light and texture. Set against a deep, multi-tonal blue gradient, the subject is rendered in rich acrylics and finished with an intensive application of fine-grain glitter. The piece is designed to be light-responsive; as the ambient light in the room shifts, the "scales" of the seahorse and the surrounding water catch the light, creating a shimmering, three-dimensional effect that mimics sunlight piercing the ocean depths.50x70 cmHave a look at my instagram to see all the pizzazzz.

The internal landscape

Inspired by the concept of higher vision, this piece captures the intensity of a double gaze framed by dramatic, architectural lashes. The work utilizes metallic gold foil and a resin top coat to create a dynamic surface that shifts and glows as the viewer moves. The contrast between the deep pink hues and the shimmering gold leaf creates a sense of constant observation, inviting the viewer into a silent, luminous dialogue with the work.70x60cm

bursting sun (sold)

There is a hidden architecture within nature, a secret geometry of light and life. In Bursting Sun, I wanted to capture the moment a pomegranate reveals its inner world. It is a study of contrast: the tough, sun-ripened exterior giving way to the glowing, jewel-like seeds within.By pushing the saturation of the reds and deepening the shadows, I aimed to transform a simple piece of fruit into a symbol of abundance and raw energy. It isn’t just a botanical study; it is a portrait of a heart laid open to the light.60x70cm

gilded zest

Original Acrylic and Genuine Gold Leaf on CanvasGilded Zest is a high-energy exploration of color and light. By pairing the sharp, organic forms of citrus with a background of hand-applied genuine gold leaf, this piece creates a striking dialogue between nature and precious metal. The gold leaf surface acts as a mirror for the room's atmosphere, reflecting light and shifting in tone throughout the day. This metallic radiance provides a luxurious, glowing stage for the vibrant greens and neon accents, capturing the electric feeling of a sun-drenched summer afternoon.60x70 cm

the liquid summer

This still life explores the interplay between organic textures and synthetic clarity. Using a bold palette of primary yellows and deep indigos, the composition focuses on the transparency of glass and the diffusion of light through liquid. The application of a professional-grade resin topcoat serves a dual purpose; it protects the pigment while adding a physical depth that mimics the surface of water, enhancing the saturation of the blueberries and the crisp edges of the lemon slices.60x70cm

the gilded center (sold)

I explore the magnetic pull of nature’s geometry. By stripping away the environment and isolating the bloom against a deep, midnight void, the yellow petals seem to vibrate with their own internal light. This piece is a study of focus. It captures that singular moment when a flower isn't just a part of a garden, but a sun in its own right, radiating outward, defiant and brilliant against the dark.100x120cm

neon bloom

This large-scale work is an explosion of organic energy and high-frequency color. Utilizing fluorescent pigments against a deep black relief, the piece reinterprets traditional floral forms as vibrant, pulsing icons. The use of neon paint ensures the colors remain exceptionally vivid in natural light, while transforming into a glowing, immersive experience under ultraviolet light. At 80x120cm, this statement piece is designed to command attention and bring a modern, electric vitality to any contemporary space.80x120

THE METAMORPHOSIS

Under ultraviolet light, Neon Bloom sheds its static form to become a living installation. The pigments reach their peak frequency, absorbing invisible UV energy and projecting a radiant, electric glow that transcends the canvas. In this state, the deep black relief recedes completely, allowing the floral forms to "float" in a high-contrast, immersive field of light. This is the piece in its most potent state: a modern, kinetic icon of energy.

Digital Relic

This piece is a bold exploration of the intersection between retro-digital aesthetics and traditional memento mori. By translating the complex textures of life and mortality into a sharp, pixelated geometry, "Digital Relic" challenges the viewer’s perception of "high-definition" emotion. The vibrant, block-palette florals provide a striking contrast to the skeletal form, while the heart-eye motif adds a layer of pop-culture whimsy. When the light catches the surface just right, a subtle, hidden detail emerges: a few tears falling from the hollow gaze of the skull's left eye, a quiet, spectral mourning caught within the pixels. Rendered in heavy-bodied acrylics to create a tactile, three-dimensional surface, this work bridges the gap between the nostalgic glow of a screen and the raw energy of a physical canvas.100x120cm

Lemster Aak: A Vessel of Memory (Sold)

Growing up in the Netherlands, my fondest childhood memories were etched not on land, but on water. This painting depicts our family Lemster Aak, the iconic traditional Dutch sailboat that felt like a second home.My art is a way of preserving these foundational moments. To capture the feeling of both the boat on the waves and the wetness of the memory itself, I finished this piece with a high-gloss resin coat. This clear, glass-like layer doesn't just protect the paint; it locks the memory in time, giving it the depth of a reflection on water and the clarity of a moment deeply rooted in Dutch soil and sea.60x70cm

The Resting Hull

In this piece, I wanted to explore the beauty of color and time through the weathered surface of a boat. Using acrylic on canvas, I applied bold, thick brushstrokes to capture the physical layers of the wood, contrasting the heavy form against a soft, sunset sky. At 50x60cm, this work is my way of bringing the rugged texture of maritime life into a moment of stillness.70x60cm

About

My journey as an artist is defined by a dual perspective. As a Swiss-Dutch painter based in Zurich, my work is an ongoing dialogue between two worlds: the vibrant, storytelling tradition of my Dutch roots and the structured, serene precision of my Swiss surroundings. For me, color isn't a choice, it’s how I process reality. I have always seen the world in high-definition; a simple lemon or a shadow on a peak isn't just a shape, it’s an electric vibration. My work is an attempt to translate that intensity so others can see it too.I am fascinated by the 'glow' that happens when light hits a surface. By layering heavy acrylics with selective resin, I create a tactile landscape on the canvas. These pieces don't just sit on a wall; they are designed to pulse, bringing a living, breathing energy into your space.Beyond the studio, my inspiration is fueled by the landscapes of my two homes. Whether it’s the reflection of the North Sea or the sharp shadows on a Swiss peak, I am always 'collecting' colors. I believe that art is most powerful when it’s personal, and I am grateful to share my perspective with you.
